The South Georgian Bay Community Health Centre (SGBCHC) provides primary healthcare services with a wide range of other health promotion and community development services under one roof; focusing on the social determinants that impact an individual's health. The SGBCHC provides an integrated model of care by working in partnership with other agencies in the communities it serves. The CHC's programs and services are developed to respond to the specific and diverse needs of the community.

The SGBCHC provides primary health and allied care to individuals and families who face special barriers to health and access to care, including: Youth between the ages of 12&24; Individuals or families experiencing poverty, housing and/or food security challenges; Isolated seniors; Individuals with any disability that presents a barrier to wellness or service access; and Individuals experiencing mental health or addiction issues.

The SGBCHC's mission is to inspire the health of the community by empowering self-care, leading community initiatives, and engaging in collaborative partnerships. The Centre recognizes health as a state of optimal physical, mental, social and spiritual well-being.

Job Status: Contract until March 2020 with potential for permanent

  

Hours of Work: Full Time

  

Area of work: South Georgian Bay (Primarily Collingwood and/or Wasaga Beach)

 

 

Position Description:  

The Georgian Bay Family Health Team and the South Georgian Bay Community Health Centre are currently seeking 4 CBT Psychotherapists for the Increasing Access to Structured Psychotherapy - North Simcoe Muskoka program. The purpose of these positions is to plan, conduct and deliver a program of individual and group Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for adults with depressive and/or anxiety disorders, and participate in a program evaluation in consultation with a CBT Psychologist. These positions will be further supported by a regional coordination team at Waypoint Centre for Mental Health Care.

 

 

Education and Qualifications:

·         Registered in the province of Ontario as a member in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers or College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario and eligible to provide psychotherapy as either a Registered Social Worker or a Registered Psychotherapist

·         Master's degree is preferred

·         Minimum 3 years of experience in the delivery of evidence-based CBT is preferred; Documented evidence of CBT training with adequate supervision is preferred

·         Demonstrated experience and knowledge of etiology and treatment of depressive and anxiety disorders as well as CBT and its application in mood and anxiety disorders

·         Demonstrated experience and knowledge of the science and practices of psychotherapy including a full range of psychotherapeutic and assessment techniques

·         Demonstrated experience and knowledge of diagnostic categories and criteria as listed in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-V)

·         Results oriented work ethic to work independently and undertake tasks needed to accomplish work objectives and deliver quality, consistent and timely results

·         Strong assessment skills to deliver and interpret symptom and outcome measures

·         Demonstrated analytical, interpersonal, time management and organizational skills

·         Proven written and verbal communication skills

·         Proven ability to adapt readily to change

·         Models and promotes core ethical practice, organization's values, and reflects an optimistic and positive attitude

·         Proficiency in French/English language skills is considered an asset

·         Cultural sensitivity and experience working with marginalized individuals is preferred

·         Clear Criminal Record Check, including Vulnerable Sector Screening.

  • Willingness to travel within South Georgian Bay

·         A valid Ontario G or G2 driver's license and a safe and reliable means of transportation. 

·         Flexible to work evenings if required

  

  

Major Responsibilities:

·         Conduct assessments (PHQ-9, GAD-7) to inform individualized treatment plans

·         Facilitate group Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) utilizing evidence-based approaches

·         Provide individual evidence-based CBT treatment

·         Participate in clinical consultation meetings with a consulting Psychologist

·         Maintain accurate and timely documentation and reports

·         Collaborate with team members in provision of care

·         Contribute to program development and program evaluation
