Our chronic disease prevention and management program includes specific activities and strategies to assist people with:

  • Quitting smoking,
  • Preventing and managing diabetes, and
  • Managing chronic disease of various types.
  • Mental Health and Addictions Strategy

Diabetes Resources and Education

Canadian Diabetes Association.  Excellent resource for recipes, education and highlights the importance of exercise. 


The Toronto Rehab exercise program is very similar to our Fitness for Health program we run at the YMCA in Wasaga Beach. The Fitness for Health program runs for 6 weeks, every Monday and Wednesday from 2-4pm.  Each session includes an educational and exercise component.  Regular physical exercise is very important in the management of diabetes.
