Stepping into volunteer work later in life has helped a Collingwood woman find her stride in the community.
Melanie Zigman’s very first foray into volunteer work with her family was a mother-daughter walk in support of the Heart and Stroke Foundation in Thunder Bay.
Zigman’s mother had survived a heart attack, and the experience inspired the women in Zigman’s family to join the walk and become the top fundraising team in the event that year.
