Ontario Structured Psychotherapy Program at the SGBCHC

The Ontario Structured Psychotherapy Program is a program funded by the Government of Ontario that provides access to evidence-based, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) for people living with depression and anxiety. CBT is a structured, time-limited therapy that is problem-focused and goal-oriented and teaches practical strategies and skills. The program will be offered in various forms including telephone coaching and clinical counselling, psychoeducational groups, internet-based cognitive behavioural therapy and face-to-face group, and individual counselling.

Who Can Access Services

Individuals 15 years or older with a primary presenting concern of anxiety and/or depression can be referred into the program. There are also a number of eligibility/suitability criteria for the program. Anyone in the South Georgian Bay region can access the program through the South Georgian Bay Community Health Centre.

How to Access Services

You will need a referral from a primary care provider (family doctor or nurse practitioner). Upon receipt of a referral, you will be contacted by telephone to gather additional information for screening purposes. Following the screening, the client will be booked for an appointment for a Clinical Intake and Triage assessment that will be done over the telephone and will take approximately 60-90 minutes. This assessment will determine whether the program is a good fit for the client’s needs and the appropriate level of intensity needed. The client will then be set up with the appropriate program.
