Become a Board Member

Serving on the South Georgian Bay Community Health Centre’s (SGBCHC) Board of Directors is a great opportunity for anyone who is passionate about giving back to their community. Working together with our clients and our community to build equitable access to excellent healthcare is at the heart of what we do. We collaborate with clients, partner organizations and community members to understand local issues and deliver local solutions to address the health and social needs of those living with vulnerabilities. We are currently looking for volunteers who have experience in one or all of the following:

  • • Have an interest or expertise in governance, community engagement, finance, accounting, education, law, communications or volunteering
  • • Have experience working in the healthcare or social service sector or have received services from community resources
  • • Have knowledge of the social and biological barriers that can have a profound impact on individual and community health, such as poverty, social isolation, chronic disease, homelessness, unemployment, oppression, food insecurity, physical barriers, and mental health and addictions issues

We are recruiting new board members!

The SGBCHC is committed to building a culturally diverse board and strongly encourages applications from visible minorities, Francophones, Indigenous Peoples, individuals with disabilities, or any individual in the population we serve.

The Board of Directors worked with staff and stakeholders to develop the SGBCHC’s 2021-2024 Strategic Plan. Our work is guided by our vision of the health and wellbeing of those we serve and our mission to build collaborative and inclusive pathways to health. Board Members, staff and volunteers work together to address our strategic directions of Advancing our Community, Advancing our Culture, and Advancing our System.

Community ties

Board members must live, work, or study within the South Georgian Bay region which includes Collingwood, Wasaga Beach, Clearview and The Town of The Blue Mountains

Modest time requirement
