The Needle Exchange Program is a harm-reduction program run in partnership with the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit (SMDHU). All exchange supplies are provided free of charge and no identifying information is requested.
Services Provided
- Injection kits including, new needles, spoons (cookers), alcohol swabs, sterile water, tourniquets, and when requested vitamin C
- Safe smoking kits including, glass stems or bowl pipes, screens, and mouth pieces
- Sharps containers for the safe disposal of used needles, stems, pipes and other substance use equipment
- Information about safer substance use and about community supports
To Access Services
We welcome anyone in need of these services to drop-in the South Georgian Bay CHC. We are a stigma-free office and a trained staff will be on-site during office hours to offer any guidance or assistance, if needed. Our hours of operation are Monday, Wednesday, Thursday from 9am-12, and 1pm-4:30pm, Tuesdays from 9am-12pm, 1pm-5pm, and 5:30pm-7pm, and Fridays from 9am-1pm.
